What is a Wiki?
<bflv>WikiWhat.mp4|width=640|height=380|align=center</bflv> 'Wiki's have received a lot of attention but what are they and how can they help me? This session explores this question and begins the Wiki Training video series provided by the Bugwood Network.
Setting up for Maximum Wiki-ocity
<bflv>Wikiocity.mp4|width=640|height=380|align=center</bflv> Wikiocity is my term for being productive while working in the wiki. This session covers many tips and tricks that may help you in being more productive in the wiki. A section of this session covers the use of keyboard shortcuts. The following is a table of shortcuts and the functions they perform:
| Keyboard Shortcuts | |
|---|---|
| Shortcut | Function |
| Ctrl+C | Copy selected text |
| Ctrl+V | Paste selected text |
| Ctrl+X | Cut selected text. This is just like copying text but the original text is removed. |
| Ctrl+Z | Undo your last edit. You can use this several times to step backward through your edits. It will only go back through the edits you have made since you loaded the current page...so if you have hit "Show Preview" you cannot 'undo' to something before that point. |
| Ctrl+Y | Redo your last undo. If you happen to get carried away with Ctrl+Z, this will re-do the change you just undid. |
| Ctrl+A | Select All. This will either select the entire contents of a page or just the contents of a window depending on where your cursor is when you press Ctrl+A. |
| Ctrl+Right or Left arrow | Move cursor from current location to next word |
| Shift+Arrow Keys | Select text using arrow keys to move around |
| Shift+Ctrl+Right or left arrow | Select text, advancing one word at a time in the direction selected. Once you reach the end of the line, it will move to the next. |
| Mouse Shortcuts | |
| Action | Function |
| Double click | Select entire word |
| Triple Click | Select entire line |
| Click in middle of line and drag down or up | Select text starting at that point and above or below depending on movement of mouse |
