Stone Pine Pinus pinea is a species of pine Pinus native to the western Mediterranean region in Spain and Portugal.
It is a medium-sized evergreen coniferous tree growing to 15-30 m tall.
It is extensively cultivated as an ornamental tree, and for its edible seeds in southern and western Europe, and to a lesser extent also in North America. Seedlings 1-2 years old with juvenile foliage are also used as table-top christmas trees.
