Purpose
For inducing sporangium formation in water molds.
Ingredients
- 500 ml dH2O
- 3 heaping teaspoons soil (any good garden soil)
Instructions
- Mix and place in autoclave.
- Autoclave for 20 m.
- About 24 hours later, autoclave again for 20 m.
- Place chunks of agar from nonselective medium containing mycelium of Pythium or Phytophthora in soil extract for 24-48 hours under light to induce sporangium formation.
