Pinus elliottii

Slash Pine Pinus elliottii is a species of pine Pinus native to southeastern North America, from South Carolina south to southern Florida, and west to eastern Louisiana.

It is a large evergreen coniferous tree growing to 25-35 m tall, rarely 40 m. There are two varieties:

  • Pinus elliottii var. elliottii. Slash Pine.
  • Pinus elliottii var. densa. South Florida Slash Pine.

Slash Pine is extensively cultivated as a timber tree in southeastern North America, and also in southern China.
