Shortleaf Pine Pinus echinata is a species of pine Pinus native to eastern North America, from southeastern New York south to northern Florida, and west to Oklahoma and eastern Texas.

It is a medium-sized evergreen coniferous tree growing to 20-30 m tall, rarely 40 m.

It is extensively cultivated as a timber tree in eastern North America.
