Malt extract agar

Purpose

For isolation of wood rooting fungi

Ingredients

Ingredient 1 L
Distilled water 1 L
Malt extract 25 g
Agar 20 g
Lactic acid (25%) 1 mL

Instructions

  1. Mix water, malt extract and agar
  2. Autoclave
  3. After cooling, add Lactic acid

Notes

  • 34 grams of malt extract agar may be substituted for the malt extract and agar.
  • Do not over-sterilize or agar will be hydrolyzed.
