This is an occasional pest in the mountains of northern Georgia that affects seed production. The cabbage seedpod weevil, Ceutorhynchus assimilis (Paykull), has been reported as a pest of canola seed pods in the Piedmont area of Georgia. Since most of the cole crop production in Georgia is for fresh market consumption, seed pests are generally not encountered.
