Acid potato dextrose agar (half strength)

Purpose
This medium is used specifically for culturing Colletotrichum cerealis from turfgrass.
Ingredients

| Dehydrated Potato Dextrose Agar | 19.5 g | 9.75 g |
| Agar | 7.5 g | 3.75 g |
| Part 2 | ||
| Lactic Acid | 1 ml | .50 ml |
Instructions
- Mix distilled water, Potato dextrose agar and agar.
- Autoclave and cool to 50-55°C
- Concentrated lactic acid while stirring.
Notes
- This medium reduces vegetative growth and can facilitate the culture and identification of many fungi. Some people use quarter strength APDA; adjust the agar accordingly to 1.5% total.
