Purpose

For inducing sporangium formation in water molds.

Ingredients

• 500 ml dH₂O
• 3 heaping teaspoons soil (any good garden soil)

Instructions

1. Mix and place in autoclave.
2. Autoclave for 20 m.
3. About 24 hours later, autoclave again for 20 m.
4. Place chunks of agar from nonselective medium containing mycelium of Pythium or Phytophthora in soil extract for 24-48 hours under light to induce sporangium formation.
