Purpose

To induce fruiting of Rhizoctonia

Ingredients

Ingredient 1 L
distilled water 1 L
dextrose 20 g
potatoes 250 g
Marmite yeast extract* 1 g
agar 20 g

Instructions

  1. Steep potatoes in 1 L water for 1 hour at 60°C.
  2. Add other ingredients to water in which potatoes were steeped and autoclave for 15 minutes at 15 lb. pressure.

Notes

  • Fruiting of Rhizoctonia is obtained by transferring 2-3 day old PMA blocks to the edge of 2% water agar plates. Keep at room temperature in diffuse light.
