Purpose

Used for stimulating pycnidium formation in Sphaeropsidales.

Ingredients

Ingredient
dH2O 1 L
Dihydrogen potassium phosphate 1.25 g
Magnesium sulfate 0.625 g
Peptone 0.625 g
Maltose 6.25 g
Malt extract 6.25 g

Instructions

  1. Heat solution in a double boiler or in Arnold’s sterilizer for 15 min.
  2. Filter.
  3. Autoclave at 10 pounds pressure for 15 min.
  4. Add 1.5-2% agar for solid media. Agar should be melted in a separate lot of water before it is added to the nutrient portion.
