What is the IPED key?

The IPED key is a program that allows a user to look at different signs and symptoms combinations to see what pests or diseases could be present. By entering signs and symptoms that have been found in your survey you will see a list of possible threats to the health of your urban forest. It is then possible to add and remove symptoms as you find new information, look at images of the potential threats and go to factsheets with more information that can be used to make a more educated diagnosis of the problem.

How do I use it?

How often is it updated?

The pest matrix is constantly updated as the IPED development team receives feedback from users and new pests or diseases are added. The online version of the key will always be the most up-to-date version.

How does it work?

Experts from the IPED development team added a series of "pest and disease signatures" int the IPED Pest Matrix. The program uses this to compare between the survey data and these signatures. If the data is close or completely matches, it provides you feedback that you may want to take a closer look at a certain set of signs and symptoms.
