Importance
Nymphs and adults suck sap from the shoots of their host. They do not seriously injure poplars.
Look For:
• Frothy spittlemass on the stem and branches.

Biology
The female spittlebug lays eggs in late summer on various plants. In spring, the nymphs emerge and feed on the stems and branches and produce spittlemasses

Not needed.
